  • Anxiety Neurosis Treatment                                      Homeopathic Treatment for Anxiety Neurosis

    Four types of therapies have been used successfully to address the symptoms of anxiety disorders.
    • Behavior therapy: This therapy focuses on exposing you to your fear in a planned environment and using relaxation techniques to control anxiety and panic. Small steps and gradual success enable you to become more confident about managing fear and anxiety-inducing situations.
    • Cognitive-behavioral therapy: This therapy teaches you to understand your patterns of thinking and change anxious responses before they take over.
    • Psychodynamic psychotherapy: Treats fear and anxiety problems as a result of unconscious mental conflict. Focuses on helping you uncover the conflict as a means to stop the feelings of anxiety and panic.
    • Trauma therapies, including EMDR: Therapies have been developed for treating anxiety which include somatic psychotherapies, therapy with early life trauma focus, and EMDR (Eye movement desensitization and reprocessing, a therapy that utilizes rapid eye movement, repetitive sounds and tapping to reintegrate an “out of sync” brain).
    Other therapies which are commonly used as alternative therapies for the treatment of anxiety are:
    • Hydrotherapy
    • Aromatherapy
    • Meditation and yoga
    • Acupuncture
    • Chinese medicines
    Conventional medical treatment of anxiety includes the prescription of the following groups of drugs. They help in controlling the symptoms of anxiety but do not target the root cause of the anxiety, hence their use is somewhat controversial.
    • Antidepressants – Most antidepressants are started at a low dosage and gradually increased to minimize the risk of serious side effects. Antidepressants typically take weeks to affect symptoms. Commonly used antidepressants are:
        * SSRIs (selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors)
        * SNRIs (serotonin-norepinephrine reuptake inhibitors)
        * Tricyclic antidepressants
        * MAOIs (Monoamine oxidase inhibitors)

    • Anti-Anxiety Medications
        * Benzodiazepines
        * Azipirones

    • Other Medications: Beta Blockers: Typically a heart medication, beta blockers have also been shown to be helpful with some anxiety disorders, like social phobia.
